April 6, 2017 – PSFA Meeting Minutes

  1. Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance and Welcome: Meeting called to order at 7:30pm.  PSFA officers in attendance:  Janice Quattrocchi(2017) Jody Sackett(2018) & Sharon Jemas(2019).   16 attendees.
  2. Co-President’s Report: Janice Quattrocchi(2017) and Jody Sackett(2018). Parent Mentoring volunteers are needed.  Committee Chairs announced for 2017-2018.
  3. Approval of March 2, 2017 Minutes: Co-President Jody Sackett(2018) asked for Motion to Approve; Lang Holtz(2017) Motioned, and Janet Pepsin (2018) seconded.  Membership voted to approve.
  4. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Therese Heidelberger, submitted an April 6th Treasurer’s Report. A motion was made to approve this Treasurers Report by Laura Andersen & a second motion to approve was made by Ann Sasso(2020).  Budget approved.
  5. CHS Student Government Association Report: No new report.
  6. Corresponding Secretary’s Report: Janice Quattrocchi(2017). Read a “Thank you” letter from Kathy Gilbert, a past PSFA President for a PSFA donation her family received to the American Heart Association in honor of her Mother Rose O’Hern in passing.
  7. New Business(early request as per Exams). Emileigh Evans requested a $200 Grant for “Girls Night Out: Female Empowerment/Systemic Sexism” under the guidance of Mrs. Crelin, to be held on April 21st at 9:30pm. The Grant was unanimously approved for $200.
  8. Committee Reports: Fundraising: VP Sharon Jemas(2019). Summarized a preliminary DGR financial report & thanked everyone for their continuous support; Bluegrass Mini Golf at Monmouth Park Racetrack, outing May 12th at 7pm.
    1. Color Wars: Daved Wren(2018). Dave discussed the event, requested a Co-Chair for this June 2nd BBQ, and also asked for event volunteers.
    2. Enichment/Education: Driver’s Ed – Ann Sasso(2020) Last class was March 29th, and all of the students passed. Thank you Ann! Catalyst Prep SAT : Dania Bruneau (2017) needs someone to take over this committee next year.
    3. Hospitality: Lang Holtz(2017), Sorca Gill(2019) & Dania Bruneau(2017). Chair & Co-chairs requested for these positions. All set for midterm exam bagels. Teacher Appreciation Week, May 1st – 5th.
    4. Public Relations: Hope Raymond(2018). Facebook updates continued.
    5. Alumni: Vivian Cheng(2019). Request for Alumni Articles & looking for a Co-chair for next year.
    6. Membership/Directory: Tina Cavazzoni(2020) declined this position. Lori Littenberg (2020) and Janet Pepsin(2018) agreed to chair this committee. Thank you! Incoming freshmen already joining the PSFA.
  9. Principal Gleason: Reported on upcoming Calendar events, including Freshman Orientation on April 19th & the Bonfire scheduled for September 29th, with rain date of September 30th.
  10. New Business continuation: Lang Holtz(2017), Nominating Committee Chair presents 2017-2018 Officer Candidates: Co-Presidents are Jody Sackett and Laura Andersen; VP is Sharon Jemas; Treasurer is Therese Heidelberger;  Corresponding Sec’y is Aphrodite Noone; Recording Secretary is Kate Megerle.  Mark Allen, Webmaster and parent of CHS alumni, spoke briefly & acknowledged advances to programs offered at CHS, website updates, and commended Mr. Gleason on a job well done.
  1. Adjourn Formal Meeting.  Co-President Jody Sackett(2018) asked for Motion to adjourn.  Dave Wren(2018) Motioned & Hope Raymond(2018) seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
