Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance –Meeting called to order at 7:30. PSFA in attendance: Jessica Evans, Janice Quattrochi, Joanne Passantino, Anthony Quattrochi, Lang Holtz, Jody Sackett. 21 members/students in attendance.

  1. 1. Co-Presidents’ Report – Jessica Evans (2017) and Janice Quattrochi (2017): Chairpersons still needed for Driver’s Ed and Membership.
  2. Principal Gleason’s Report: He thanked the PSFA for the terrific DGR event, and liked the new Wine Wall. Also thanked the PSFA for the strong Teacher Appreciation Week. Freshmen Orientation went well. The Senior Dinner is June 1st at Jumping Brook, & PSFA scholarships awarded then. Field trips: Class of 2019 going to Wreck Pond with NJ Littoral Society work on conservation several times this month; Ms. Mulshine’s Journalism class goes to D.C. this month to see the Newseum. Film Festival in Red Bank has several CHS student entries. Next Friday is NAHS art show here. Prom is at Trump’s in Colts Neck. Senior photos this month. PAARC testing this month. Color Wars in June. Thanked Mark DiSpigna for effective & well-organized SGA election today.
  3. Approval of April PSFA Meeting Minutes -Recording Secretary Jody Sackett (2018): Joann Boyle motioned to approve; Karen O’Boyle seconded. Minutes approved.
  4. Treasurer’s Report-Joann Passantino (2016) : Joann reported $17,281 raised by the DGR last month; also a few last-minute expenses added. Therese Heidelberg motioned to approve; Dania Bruneau seconded. Report approved.
  5. Corresponding Secretary Report-Anthony Quattrochi (2017): Anthony read thank-you notes from 9 of the CHS Faculty for the Teacher Appreciation treats and gifts this week. Color War emails requesting volunteers will be going out this month.
  6. CHS Student Government Association Report-Mark DiSpigna (2017): CCC festival on April 8th was a big success, raised over $2900 for St Judes. Thanks for bagel breakfast. Seniors won Spirit Week. CCC went to Lakewood Head Start to help with a carnival. Drama Club play last weekend made $4000 from ticket sales. SGA elections today: Mark is President, Julia Pardee is VP. NAHS Art Showcase this month. Class Council elections on May 24th. CHS Prom is on May 20th.
  7. Committee Reports:
    1. Teacher Appreciation: Chair Janice reported that teachers got something special each day this week. Bagels on Monday; fruit & homemade fortune cookies on Tuesday; Wednesday a Wegman’s platter breakfast (thanks to Dania for picking it up); Thursday was a catered lunch, and Friday all teachers got a thank-you note with a $10 Amazon gift card.
    2. Membership: Jessica reported that incoming freshmen joined PSFA at Orientation and online at home. About half of class has joined. Will also canvas for membership at Back to School night. Jessica needs Membership Co-Chair for next year. Committees now have new incoming freshmen members.
    3. Fundraising: Lang Holtz, DGR Co-Chair: Lang thanked everyone profusely for their hard work & reported DGR results: over 180 guests, the highest ever; over 130 baskets, most ever; $17,316 profit – highest ever. Beast t-shirts sale cancelled.
    4. Hospitality: Joann Boyle (2015) and Cyndi Hogan (2018): Bagel breakfast will be provided for Finals. Mr. Gleason thanked them for lovely Freshmen Orientation refreshments.
    5. Color Wars: Dave Wren reported that a Save the Date was emailed out, requesting donations & volunteers. Need to borrow coolers. Event is on June 3rd, with 2 shifts of volunteers. Grilling starts around 10:30. Details reviewed for day of event. In good shape overall. Donations can be brought to office during week of Color Wars.
  8. Unfinished Business: None.
  9. New Business: Elections for 2016-2017. Elected officers are: Co-Presidents Janice Quattrochi (current) and Jody Sackett (new); VP Sharon Jemas (new); Treasurer Therese Heidelberger (new); Corresponding Secretary Anthony Quattrocchi (current); Recording Secretary Karen O’Boyle (new). Unanimously elected. New officers take over at the end of June meeting.
    Ambassadors: A new program to provide mentoring for parents of incoming freshmen. Current CHS parents will be asked (via email) to be Mentors, and will be matched with incoming freshmen parents based primarily upon geographical location. Jody & Mr. Gleason will match mentors. Members spoke highly in favor of it and all agreed that it should be instituted.
  10. Questions/Suggestions: Vivien Cheng and Carol Pardee will co-chair the new Alumni committee.
  11. Adjourn Formal Meeting: Dave Wren motioned, Joann Boyle seconded. Meeting dismissed at 8:25.
