2.) SGA Report: Lucy Batista: Good evening, everybody, I am this year’s president, I wanted to take this moment to pass the baton on to Justin Longo. He is newly elected to be next year’s SGA president. He was on the student council this year and we are really excited for him for next year. Justin: It’s been a busy month for the SGA. We had our SGA elections and it’s going to be myself as president and Sabrina Liding as vice president, Shawn Ribeiro, Phin Whedon, and Stella Feinstein as council members- we are all excited to get started. My next topic is Color Wars, which I’m sure you’re all just as excited as I am, which is tomorrow. The SGA has been working hard all month getting everything in order, we have all the supplies ready. We’d like to thank the PSFA for providing the t-shirts as well as the barbecue lunch- everyone is really excited about it. The whole school has been abuzz this month, organizing and meeting to brainstorm ideas, and learning the chants. Lucy: If you have any questions from now on you can reach out to Justin or Sabrina. Since Charlie and I and Marina are seniors and leaving we wanted to again say a huge thank you to the PSFA for this entire year, not only for helping us fund the shirts and having the spirit wear competition but having your support for this entire year. It’s been really amazing, there are a lot of events that we planned and we are grateful to have your support.
NHS Report: None at this time
3.) Principal Gleason’s Report: There’s not a lot of time left on the calendar; I believe it’s twelve days. There are a lot of different events between now and then. There is color wars tomorrow; there is senior recognition night on Tuesday. There is a lot of senior stuff: the senior picnic; senior breakfast; and we are really trying to close out the year right and celebrate their time here at CHS. I will jump on the bandwagon and say thank you to the PSFA. Thank you for all of the bagel breakfasts and everything you do. Thank you to Lucy for being here representing the SGA, for being here the whole school year. We are looking forward to summer, I’m sure you all are as well. It’s nice to get some down time and refresh before we start back up again. I’m not even sure about the summer hours at this point. We’re just clicking off one day at a time right now. Does anybody have any questions? Thanks for coming out. I hope you all have a great summer, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone in September.
- ) Co-President’s Report : Kristen presiding: Thank you for coming out tonight, it is a really busy time of the year for a lot of people so we appreciate you coming here. It’s the final meeting of the year, so it is the ‘passing of the baton’. Before we do that, I wanted to thank the people who will be graduating out this year and show our appreciation. I would like to start with Debbie Rau, she has been here and helping with the Gift Auction for six years and pretty much has been a part of the PSFA for that whole time. She has two kids who went through CHS- I call her the gift auction ‘extraordinaire’- it is a huge undertaking, and I don’t know how she has done it for all of these years. Now she’ll have two kids off in college and we just want to wish her well and thank her for countless hours and all her effort, all that she has put into this school and the PSFA. Thank you so much Debbie. Next we have Janice Karp, she is our recording secretary- and she is my go to gal. We started out soliciting for Debbie. And then we got pulled aside and asked, “hey how would you like to be the corresponding secretary, how would you like to be the recording secretary”. She doesn’t only do the minutes and the Driver’s Ed, anytime we have needed anything: bagel breakfasts, spirit wear sales, chaperone etc. Thank you for always being there. And finally, is Lina- our merchandise specialist, she is always there with the best ideas, she’s always trying to get the most up to date ideas…she has gone up to students to get their opinions, to have the latest fashions. So, thank you for all your time and effort. We truly appreciate it. Here are the new people who are taking over positions. Colleen Stemetzki is now going to be your senior co-president, and Janet Schneider will be your junior co-president. Corresponding secretary is Brenda Connolly. We have yet to fill Janice’s position- so if anyone is willing to take on a position as recording secretary come see Janice. Our treasurer is MaryAnn Doyle and she is still with us. We do have someone who has stepped up for the Gift Auction- Janelle Checkett. She will have some assistance from Patti Riddle, and there are lots of volunteers to help with the Gift Auction as well. Patti is also running the book club. Hope Pressler has stepped up for Merchandise- thank you- and is looking for a co-chair. For membership we still have Teresita Weiss and Krista Kingsley. Maureen Gilbert is still our PR; and our Hospitality is still Lisa Lippincott and Kathy Seetoo. Thank you very much. We have our color wars co-chairs Diane and Megan. We still have plenty of room to help, if you’re willing to help out and want to get involved, please come see us, we would love for you to help out. Colleen will now take over the meeting! Colleen: I just would like to say a few words about Kristen, I only signed up with the PSFA a year and a half ago. My son was a senior and my other son was a sophomore, and I did not know what I was doing. Kristen really took me under her wing, she was very patient with me, explained everything to me. Her number one goal over these past years has been ‘what’s going to make it more fun and be beneficial for the students?’ That was the bottom line. We were coming back from covid, she was all in on doing an ice cream social at the beginning of the year. We used to do it on the beach- the beach no longer allowed it, and she would not take no for an answer. We actually had it at Allaire State Park and I thought that was a wonderful event. The kids got to meet each other, and the families got to know each other too. She came up with an art competition for the students, since we have so many talented artists here, to design our canvas bag that we are now selling. She also brought back the club crawl- where all of the clubs came out with items representing their clubs to raise money and to show the parents what they are doing. Despite having bad weather that night we all enjoyed visiting the club’s tables and supporting them. She was the lifeline to Mr. Gleason, to the teachers, to the guidance department and to the SGA. Without her drive and support I don’t think we would have accomplished everything this year. It was a team effort, and everybody pitches in, but every team needs a leader. We were very blessed to have Kristen. So, please bear with me next year. I’m going to do the best I can, so thank you for everything.
5.) Recording Secretary Minutes: Janice Karp (2023) – Minutes from the May meeting have been posted to the website and need to be approved – motioned by Kristin Cichon, and 2nd by MaryAnn Doyle.
6.) Corresponding Secretary: Janet Schneider (2025) – The teachers sent e-mails thanking us for all the things that we did for them for ‘teacher appreciation’ week. They are very happy with everything. We had bowls of candy one day, we gave them GC’s the next day, then we brought in hot lunch from Joe Leone’s another day. Then we spruced up the teacher lounge with some new appliances and spent some time cleaning it and replaced the curtains in there.
7.) Committee Reports:
A.) Fundraising: Debbie Rau (2023) – Gift Auction is complete.
B.) Hospitality- Lisa Lippincott (2025) and Kathy Seetoo (2025) – So coming up we still have senior breakfasts, that’ll happen on June 13th, when the students get sign their yearbooks and all that kind of fun. We will send out a sign of genius looking for donations to help with that. We have two more bagel breakfasts coming up before the end of the year for final exams on June 15th and 16th. Anybody who wants to get up really early and help us out. It’s really fun I promise. There’ll be a sign-up genius going for that as well.

Everything has been reordered and getting ready to pass the baton to Hope Pressler (2026), who has volunteered to take over, she could always use a co-chair.
8.) Treasurer’s Report: MaryAnn Doyle (2023) -Not a lot going on at the end of the year. The big expense we have going out is for the ten $500. scholarships that are given out at the senior awards night.
