  • Call to Order.   President Janet Schneider called the meeting to order at 7:17 pm and lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. 
  • SGA Report: Stella Feinstein  – Vice President
  • The SGA held its annual Compatibility Fundraiser in February. 
  • The SGA is preparing for the annual fashion show which will be held on March 21 at 6:30.  The theme will be “CHS in Bloom”.   90 students will be participating in the show.  Tickets will be sold at school and at the door.
      1. SGA is the early stages of planning Spirit Week which will come up in April. 
      2. Shout out to GSA who hosted the GSA Soiree which was hosted in February and was a great success.  
      3. The Teacher Pet Award Contest was held last night and it raised $500 for Rally Sports.  
  • Principal’s Report 
  • She congratulated the GSA on an excellent kickoff event with the GSA Soiree. 
  • The district will be changing the school schedule format.  There will be an in person meeting on March 18 at 6pm at CHS to discuss the upcoming change.  Ms. Bonilla is very excited for the change to the school schedule and thinks that it will be a great benefit to our CTE school.   It will also provide additional opportunities to introduce new classes for students.  
  • There will be a meeting at CHS on April 10 at 6:15pm – 7pm to meet with 9th – 11th grade students and families to discuss class selections and the migration to Genius from PowerSchool.  
  •  Notice to all seniors:  You must complete the FASFA in order to walk in graduation per NJ law.  Please make sure this completed.  
  • Standardized testing is coming up on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. 
  • On Friday, Commissioner DeRocco will be visiting the school and Ms. Bonilla is very excited to show him around the school. 
  • The musical Chicago will be performed by the Drama Club on April 4th and 5th
  • President’s Report – Janet Schneider 
      1. “What I Wish I Know”  Presentation  will be occurring on March 25, 7pm.  It will be held virtually and it will count for 2 hours of community service hours for students. 
      2. BioTech High Scholl is hosting a virtual parent chat on March 25 at 7pm titled “What I Wish I Knew”.  It is a panel discussion will discuss the teen mental health and provide discussion points on establishing talking points with your children about mental health.  
      3. The PSFA is organizing an online driver’s education class.  The 8-session course begins on March 11 and runs through April 3 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-8pm.  The cost is $100 per student.   The cutoff for registration for the driver’s education class will be 5pm on 3/9. 
      4. If there is an interest of at least 8 or more students to hold a virtual SAT course over the summer, the PSFA is glad to organize it.   If interested, please email Janet at president@chs-psfa.org.
      5. The PSFA updated its bylaws, and the Executive Board approved the new bylaws in its meeting.  They will be posted on the PSFA website. 
      6. We will have a new spirit wear sale from March 10 -March 18 and they will be delivered by April 9.  
  • Secretary’s Report – Melissa Skrocki 
      1. The February minutes were posted on the PSFA website.  There was a motion to approve the minutes by Janet Schneider which was seconded by Kathy Seetoo.    The February minutes were approved unanimously by the PSFA.  
  • Treasurer’s Report – MaryAnn Doyle
      1. The PSFA paid for the Caps and Gowns for Seniors.  
  • Fundraising Committee–Patti Riddle
      1. The gift auction will be held on Friday, April 25 at The Breakers at 6pm.  
        1. Tickets will be available on the PSFA website in a few weeks.  Gift auction tickets will be available online as well.  
        2. Please look at the Amazon Wish List to make a donation to help with the gift auction.   We are down to about 40 items and would love to finish up purchasing.  The deadline to do that is March 15.   
        3. If you are business owner, please consider purchasing an ad in our event booklet. 
        4. The auction will include a silent auction for 6 preferred seats and 2 parking spaces for graduation.   
        5. The proceeds of this fundraiser and every fundraiser goes directly to funding events, clubs, transportation for the senior trip, faculty appreciation, scholarships, breakfasts for the students and so many other benefits for our children.  Please support this event through a donation, attending or supporting this event by spreading the word about it! 
  • Membership Committee  – Krista Kingsley
      1. Ms. Sambataro will be emailing the seniors that are eligible for scholarships this month.  The PSFA will fund 10 $500 scholarships for CHS Seniors.  To be eligible, the family of the student must be a member of the PSFA.  Guidance counselors will select the winners of each of the scholarships.   
  • Communique – Rori Davis
      1. The current Communique will is posted online to summarize upcoming events.  They are posted monthly.  
  • Hospitality Committee – Lisa Lippincott
      1. April 7 & 8  will be bagel breakfast days.  If you are volunteering, please allow senior parents to take priority as this is their last bagel days.    
      2. Orientation Day – we will provide snacks. 
      3. Color Wars will be held on Friday, June 6.  We will post for food donations once we get closer.  
      4. Mr. Stengle thanked us for providing food for Career Day.    
  • Next PSFA Meeting is on April 10 at 7pm.  It will be in person.
