Parent & Students Are Invited to Donate Blood at the NHS Blood Drive

The National Honor Society at Communications High School will hold its annual blood drive on Thursday, February 13th from 7:30am to 12:30pm. Under the supervision of blood drive committee chairs Grace Quakenbush and Olivia Conkling, as well as NHS adviser Ms. Lane, club members will staff the wellness room and front desk. Snacks and refreshments will be available in the donor recovery room.

Juniors and seniors who meet the weight and health requirements are welcome to donate blood with the permission of a parent or guardian and Mrs. Condon. As in previous years, parents and families are encouraged to donate alongside their children and can schedule an appointment ahead of time. NHS not only depends on the students to make the blood drive a success, but on the CHS community as well. Every two seconds, someone needs blood. Every donation makes a difference.

“It would be great for the parents to get involved along with the students so that we can get as many donations as possible,” Conkling said. “The more people that donate, the better!”

Only 1-2% of NJ adults donate blood. Parents interested in donating blood will be given scheduling priority. Before you move on to read the next article, please email Ms. Lane at jlane@ctemc.org and schedule your appointment.
